Meet our breeders in their own words: High Seas Rattery (Eastern New York) and Blackwood Burrow Rattery (Western New York).
The Blonde Roof Rat Registry

This is the home for our roof rats’ records and the people who keep them. It is where you can find the breeders raising tame, pedigreed roof rats, see which rats are looking for homes, and join as an owner or a breeder. Every rat we place gets a pedigree and a printable Certificate of Pedigree, with its lineage, coat genetics, and, where we have it, a Certified Tame behavioral record.

It is a small, invitation-based group, because every rat is tracked by hand. Here are the two ways in.
For owners
If you have one of our roof rats, or you are bringing one home, you get a free owner account. You can set your rat’s call name and print its Certificate of Pedigree any time. We set the account up when a rat goes home with you, so the way in is to adopt.
For breeders
Becoming a registered breeder means helping carry these lines forward. It is the heart of the succession mission: keeping the colony going past any one of us. Registered breeders record their own litters, issue pedigrees under their own breeder name, and certify tameness.
